CHENANGO BRIDGE, NY — August 25, 2026 — During a practical motor vehicle rescue exercise on Tuesday nite, members of the Chenango Bridge Fire Company honed their car-extrication techniques.
According to the agency, the training included a number of standard extrication procedures, such as dash rises, door and roof removal, and seat removal.
Firefighters can practice working around a damaged car while utilizing rescue equipment and collaborating as a team thanks to these evolutions. During vehicle rescues, when crews may need to modify their strategy depending on the position and health of the people as well as the damage to the vehicle, repetition is very crucial.
