LANSING, NY — August 19, 2026 —  Alongside the Trumansburg Fire Department, members of the Lansing Fire Department trained on Thursday nite by practicing pumping and water supply at the lake.

The combined exercise concentrated on procedures that firefighters would need when a static water source is present and a significant amount of water is needed.

In collaboration with the maritime unit, crews set up a water supply, stretched hose lines, and moved many handlines and master streams. Members were able to focus on coordination, communications, and pump operations while transferring a lot of water from the lake thanks to the evolution. The drill also provided an opportunity for Lansing and Trumansburg firefighters to work with one another before an actual emergency requires the two organizations to operate together.
