QUEENSBURY, NY — August 17, 2026 — In addition to continuing their training and assisting a nearby department's apparatus celebration, Queensbury Central Fire Company members had a busy week, responding to 17 calls for assistance, including 11 calls in the preceding three days.

According to the department, the calls for the week included helping EMS, several auto accidents, a gas leak at a shopping center, and a domestic smoke condition.

On a number of the incidents, Queensbury Central collaborated with its mutual-aid counterparts from West Glens Falls Fire and EMS.

Members traveled to West Glens Falls to assist a nearby department with its wet-down and push-in ceremony for a new apparatus, held their monthly meeting, and performed Saturday morning training in addition to emergency responses. West Glens Falls Fire Company No. 1 serves the West Glens Falls section of the Town of Queensbury and neighboring communities and maintains a range of emergency-response capabilities, including medical emergencies, motor-vehicle accidents, hazardous conditions, water rescue and structure fires.
