North Java Crews Combine Training, Mutual Aid and Community Outreach

NORTH JAVA, NY — August 11 — Members of the North Java Fire Company, located at 4274 Route 98, North Java, NY 14113-9765, have been involved in a range of fire and emergency medical services activities over the past few weeks. These activities include community outreach programs, live-fire training sessions, medical helicopter preparedness drills, and mutual-aid operations.


Members also helped the Arcade Fire Department with a controlled burn exercise, allowing them to work with a neighboring department during a planned fire training session.

On August 11, the department hosted a ground safety training session for Mercy Flight at its Route 98 station. This training covered topics such as landing zone selection, communication procedures, aircraft safety, patient preparation, and coordination among fire, emergency medical services, and law enforcement personnel.


North Java Fire Company also provided assistance to the Wyoming Fire Department, reinforcing the mutual-aid partnerships that are essential for effective emergency response in rural areas.


North Java Fire Company is a volunteer-based organization and offers advanced-level emergency medical services, as noted in regional EMS records.

Wyoming County has more than a dozen fire departments collaborating across the county, and cooperation and consistent training are key components of their emergency operations.
