Young participants in the New Providence Junior Police Academy got a firsthand look at the fire service during a visit from members of the New Providence Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters introduced the recruits to the department’s apparatus and equipment, giving them an opportunity to learn about the tools firefighters use and their role during emergency responses. The firefighters also assisted with preparations for a helicopter landing, providing the participants with another look at how public safety agencies work together during various operations.
