Lacey Township recently recognized more than five decades of fire service and municipal service by honoring veteran firefighter Charles V. “Popsie” Brocklebank Sr. with a township proclamation and the dedication of a pavilion at Hebrew Park.

The ceremony, held August 10, 2026, in Lacey Township, New Jersey, brought together township officials and members of the local fire service to recognize Brocklebank’s years of service to the community.

Brocklebank was a life member of the Forked River Volunteer Fire Company and served the community for more than 50 years. His public service also included working for the Lacey Township Department of Public Works, where he worked as a carpenter and heavy-equipment operator on municipal projects.

In addition to his fire and public works service, Brocklebank served as a special police officer during his earlier years.

The pavilion dedication provided a permanent recognition of Brocklebank’s contributions to Lacey Township and his decades of service as a volunteer firefighter and municipal employee.
