According to the Quakertown Fire Company, July was a busy month as they responded to 81 service requests while maintaining their EMS and firefighter training.
The July activity comprised 49 Division of Fire replies and 38 Division of EMS calls, according to the company's August 2 report.
However, the reported category totals from the department total 87 instead of 81. This report has not reconciled the disparity because the original post did not explain the difference.
In addition to emergency responses, members made vehicle rescue the primary training focus during the month. Vehicle rescue training is especially relevant to a department whose apparatus includes dedicated rescue equipment, hydraulic extrication tools, cribbing, rescue struts and other equipment used for motor-vehicle incidents. The company's Rescue 91 is specifically equipped for extrication operations, while Engine 91 also carries vehicle-rescue tools.
