PITTSTOWN, NJ — August 5, 2026 — On Wednesday, Quakertown Fire Company personnel arrived at an equestrian barn on Pittstown Road in Franklin Township in response to a suspected fire alarm.

According to the department, Ladder 91 and Tender 91-1 responded from the Quakertown Fire Company station with an internal crew consisting of volunteers and career firefighters.

After looking into the alarm, firefighters concluded that it had been accidentally activated. There were no reports of a fire.

Several equestrian properties with sprinkler systems and automatic fire alarms are part of the response area. Crews frequently react to these establishments when their alarm systems go off, according to Quakertown Fire Company.

Quakertown Fire Company operates as a combination fire and EMS organization and provides primary fire protection and rescue coverage to all of Franklin Township and portions of Alexandria and Union townships. The company's first-due area covers approximately 49 square miles.

The department operates Engine 91, Squad 91, two tenders, Heavy Rescue 91, a brush unit, two BLS ambulances and other support vehicles.
