WARREN, RI — August 16 — Members of the Warren Fire Department spent the morning improving their elevated rescue abilities using Tower 1.

The training involved rescuing a simulated victim from an elevated area, using the tower ladder, rescue litter, ropes, and webbing.

The crews practiced securing the victim and carefully lowering them to the ground in a controlled scenario.

As the department continues to handle tasks such as solar installations, mill renovations, and HVAC work, firefighters have recognized the importance of being ready for situations where workers may get hurt or sick while working on rooftops or other high places.

The Warren Fire Department includes Tower 1 as part of its equipment and offers a comprehensive training program for its members.

This exercise helped reinforce understanding of the equipment, communication, patient packaging, and controlled lowering techniques—skills that can be essential when access to an elevated patient is restricted.
