Cranford, N.J. — August 5 — Jen Burns is the newest member of the Cranford Fire Department. Burns began her work with the department when she was introduced to it at the firehouse with Cranford fire and EMS personnel. Through career and volunteer staff, the Cranford Fire Department offered the community fire, EMS, and rescue services. Members were in charge of public education, fire safety, emergency response, and other community services.

When mutual assistance was required, the department also collaborated with nearby organizations. Burns' greeting did not mention any mutual-aid departments. According to the department's official directory, the Cranford Municipal Building was situated at 8 Springfield Ave. and the Fire Department at 7 Springfield Ave. Burns was greeted and wished well by the department.
