This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Hackettstown, N.J. — August 18 — Tuesday nite, the Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad and the Hackettstown Fire Department together practiced car extrication. Rescue workers and firefighters had the chance to practice cooperating during a mock car accident during the training. While examining equipment, communication, and scene operations, crews worked through extrication duties. To help set up the training scenario and offer members with an overview of the truck's capabilities, Bills Service Center supplied a rotator.

During the course, participants gained practical experience with equipment that can be utilized in challenging vehicle rescue situations. Before responding jointly, joint drills also helped firemen and EMS workers better grasp each other's tasks. The training gave local emergency personnel another chance to improve coordination and retain useful rescue techniques.
