Huntington Firefighters Practiced Boat Operations

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Phillipsburg, N.J. — July 21 — For practical training with the company's boat, members of Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Station 75, traveled to a nearby boat launch. Firefighters had the chance to operate the vessel, become familiar with its controls, and practice handling it on the water throughout the session. Members were better prepared for water rescue calls and other situations involving marine operations thanks to boat familiarization training.

Along with other fire and emergency response organizations, Station 75 had previously taken part in regional water-rescue operations along the Delaware River. Before reacting to future occurrences, the training gave members real-world experience. This training session did not include any mutual-aid departments. Through frequent practical training, the department continues to improve the abilities of its members.
