Ladder Truck Reached 17 Years of Service

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Washington Borough, N.J. — August 13 — The New Truck Committee of the Washington Boro Fire Department came to Appleton, Wisconsin, for the last inspection of its brand-new ladder truck seventeen years ago. The equipment eventually became a standard component of the department's operations, helping nearby municipalities through mutual aid and responding to fires and other incidents in Washington Boro.

After over 20 years of operation, the truck was still helping locals and mutual aid partners. Operating out of 100 Belvidere Ave., the Washington Boro Fire Department provided mutual aid, emergency response, and fire control services to the neighborhood. The throwback offered a glimpse at a piece of equipment that was still part of the department's response capabilities and demonstrated the extended lifespan that well-maintained fire equipment might offer.
