Chloe Handlin received recognition from Bourne Fire/Rescue & Emergency Services for her efforts in getting more than $500,000 worth of new SCBA and RIT equipment ready for use.

Funding from a FEMA grant was used to buy the equipment. In order to facilitate upcoming inspections, maintenance, and asset tracking, Handlin assisted with equipment preparation and organization as well as inventorying and labeling every item.

Handlin, a cadet from the Mass Maritime Academy, pursued a career as a firefighter/paramedic while completing her co-op with Bourne Fire/Rescue. The department expressed gratitude for her efforts and wished her well as she pursued further study and a future in fire service.
