Colrain, MA. — July 21 — The Colrain Firefighters' Association held a quick response team exercise with an emphasis on large-area searches. In order to find and help a firefighter who might get lost, stuck, or unable to leave a building, firefighters studied search techniques. In a controlled environment, the exercise addressed team mobility, communication, and planned search strategies.

Before an emergency arises, RIT training enables teams to review rescue protocols and stay comfortable with equipment. The necessity of coordinated activities when deploying a fireman rescue team was also emphasized during the seminar. Members can maintain the skills necessary for safe and efficient emergency response operations with regular training.
