Emergency crews in Proctorsville, Vermont, responded to 13 incidents during July 2026, with medical and rescue emergencies accounting for most of the month's activity.
According to the Proctorsville Volunteer Fire Department's monthly report, crews handled nine medical/rescue calls, one fire alarm, one motor vehicle crash and one power-line incident. The department was also requested for mutual aid at a structure fire, but that response was canceled.
The July activity brought Proctorsville's 2026 call total to 100. The department reported handling 178 calls during all of 2025, putting this year's response activity on pace to approach or potentially exceed last year's total if the current rate continues.
The calls came during a period of transition for the volunteer department. Longtime Chief Bob Glidden Sr. retired at the end of June after 56 years in the fire service, including 33 years as chief. His son, Deputy Chief Bob Glidden, was slated to take over as chief beginning July 1.
