Thomas Rathjen Marked 47 Years With Hampton Lakes

Vincentown, N.J. — July 27 — Thomas Rathjen was honored by Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company for 47 years of service. After joining the organization in 1979, Rathjen held a number of positions, including lieutenant, captain, assistant chief, deputy chief, and fire chief. In addition, he presided over the corporation for around ten years starting in 2003. As a driver, Rathjen operated the tanker, utility vehicle, and engines while responding to hundreds of emergencies.


He continued to be involved with the department and participated on apparatus committees. Rathjen became deputy chief in 2026 in order to spend more time with her family. Hampton Lakes also employed his wife, kids, grandkids, and in-laws.
