South Country Ambulance Lays to Rest One of Their Own

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y.- On Saturday, August 10th, the South Country Ambulance and Brookhaven Fire Department laid to rest one of their own. Edward David was 47-years-old when he passed away in Virginia Beach, VA. David served the South Country Ambulance for 29 years since he turned 18 in 1995 (when it was Bellport Ambulance). Ed then served in Brookhaven Ambulance in 1999, the 2 would later merge to form South Country Ambulance. Mr. David reached the rank of Captain. He received numerous awards including a Member of the Year award.

 

In addition to his service in South Country Ambulance, he also served in the Brookhaven Fire Department where he reached the rank of lieutenant and served for 14-years, as well as the United States Airforce 106th Air Rescue wing, including a deployment in the war on terror. Captain David was posthumously restored to his rank by Chief of South Country Ambulance Gregory c. Miglino Jr.  A viewing was held with full EMS services on Friday August 9th at Robbertaccio Funeral Home in Patchogue with a full honor guard present. 

 

On Saturday August 10th a internment was held for Captain David who was buried with full EMS and Military Honors. The Procession left the Funeral home and made its way to Oaklawn Cemetery in Brookhaven where a Flag Arch detail was stationed at the entrance thanks to Hagerman Fire Department members. The procession lead by south country ambulance Included Brookhaven Fire Department, Hagerman Fire Department and Suffolk County Police in addition to Capt Davids Friends and family .
