Indiana firefighters handled seven calls for service over the weekend of July 17th - July 19th as thunderstorms moved through the area, including alarms, utility lines down, a reported brine tank fire and a motor vehicle crash.

The weekend activity in Indiana, PA, included a Friday evening response to Valvoline in Southtowne Plaza for a reported gas leak. Chief Lee Thompson and crews investigated but found no source, and Peoples Gas responded to continue the investigation.

Crews also handled an accidental fire alarm at the Hilton Garden Inn and two alarm activations at a manufacturing facility. On Saturday at approximately 11:30 a.m., Company 2 Captain Eric Cramer responded to South 4th Street for utility lines down following storms. A wire was found across a driveway near a transformer, and Penelec was notified to handle the utility issue.

While crews were operating at the wire call, Brush 107 responded on mutual aid to assist Creekside with a reported brine tank fire. Crews accessed the incident by a locked lease road and shut off the gas supply at the wellhead, extinguishing the fire.

On Sunday, Indiana units again assisted Creekside, this time at a two-vehicle crash on Fulton Run Road. Minor damage was reported, one vehicle required towing, and Creekside personnel handled traffic control before Indiana units returned to service.
