Beaver, PA - Volunteer firefighters mounted an aggressive suppression and salvage operation Tuesday afternoon, briefly evacuating a structurally compromised building before successfully protecting a muscle car stored inside during a working garage fire in Blair County.

Just after 12:00 p.m. on September 22, 2026, the Blue Knob Volunteer Fire Company (Station 86) and regional mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 86-3 box for reports of an active garage blaze in Juniata Township. Station 86 deployed Engine/Tanker 86 and Attack 86 staffed by seven volunteer firefighters.

Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke and flames issuing from the detached structure. Responding personnel rapidly deployed two attack hose lines, raised ground ladders, and performed tactical ventilation to locate and suppress the seat of the fire. As operations progressed, deteriorating conditions and fire load forced command to order a temporary evacuation of the interior until the building's structural integrity could be evaluated and stabilized.

Once the active fire was brought under control, firefighters shifted operational priorities to high-value salvage, directing targeted hoselines and mitigation efforts to protect and rescue a classic muscle car housed within the burning bays. Department leadership praised the seamless coordination and swift teamwork demonstrated across all responding mutual aid agencies to prevent further property loss.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was summoned to the scene and is investigating the cause and origin of the blaze.
