Flames Feet from the Barn: Chippewa Volunteers Snuff Tractor Fire Before Disaster Strikes

Chippewa, PA - Volunteer firefighters from the Chippewa Township Volunteer Fire Department moved swiftly Tuesday evening to extinguish an agricultural equipment fire before the flames could spread to a nearby outbuilding in Beaver County.

On September 29, 2026, emergency crews were dispatched following reports of an active tractor fire burning in close proximity to an adjacent barn. The department mobilized a heavy response to protect the threatened outbuilding, deploying Engine 22, Ladder 22, Squad 22-5, and Chief 22.

Arriving firefighters quickly advanced an attack line on the burning machinery, achieving a rapid knockdown and saturating the surrounding area to eliminate radiant heat exposure. Thanks to the fast intervention, the fire was contained entirely to the equipment, and responders reported zero fire or smoke damage to the neighboring barn structure.
