Former Chief Dave Hanley Was Remembered

Bogota, N.J. — July 18 — Dave Hanley, the former chief of Hose Co. 2, passed away, according to the Bogota Fire Department. After joining the agency in 1964, Hanley worked there for many years, rising throughout the ranks before taking the oath of office as chief in 1998. Additionally, he supported the borough's emergency medical response for many years as a member of the Bogota First Aid Squad.


Throughout his tenure, Hanley collaborated with members of Engine Co. 1, Hook & Ladder Co. 1, Engine Co. 3, and other department staff. His extensive service and contributions to Bogota's emergency services community were acknowledged by the department. Other responders reminisced about his years of service.
