Sturbridge Firefighters Complete Full Day of Training

On July 15, the Sturbridge Fire Department finished a full day of firefighter training, with career and call members concentrating on skills related to rescue, water supply, and personal protective equipment.


Off-duty career firefighters from Groups 2 and 4 practiced low-angle rescue at Wells State Park in the morning. The practice was led by District 7 Technical Rescue Team member Firefighter/Paramedic Whynot.


Sturbridge call firefighters practiced hydrant-position skills for engine company operations at many drill sites that evening. Additionally, members practiced donning and doffing PPE. Lt. Bonneau and Firefighter Gelinas were the instructors.
