On July 30, the Deep River Fire Department celebrated its 130th anniversary by organizing the yearly Deep River Ancient Muster.
As part of the country's 250th anniversary celebrations, the 2026 muster was named the National Muster. As the department commemorated more than a century of service to the Deep River community, the celebration brought together fire service tradition and history.
The Deep River Fire Department also acquired the participation of the Middletown Police Pipes and Drum Corps to bolster its contingent for the occasion.
