Chester, Conn. — July 10 — Thomas F. Miksa, a lifelong employe who devoted 55 years to the department and community, passed away, according to the Chester Hose Company.
After joining as a Junior Member, Miksa had a number of positions, including Junior Advisor, Trustee, Truck Driver, Firefighter, EMT, Fire Police, and 2nd Assistant Chief. He encouraged others to join the volunteer fire service and served as a mentor to other members during his years of service.
Miksa's dedication, upbeat outlook, and strong feeling of community were cherished by department members. The Chester Hose Company will never be the same after his 55 years of devotion.
