Lyme, CT. — July 7 — Arthur "Skip" Beebe, the former Old Lyme Fire Chief, passed away, according to the Lyme Fire Company, Hamburg Fire Station, 213 Hamburg Rd. Over the course of his more than 50 years with the Old Lyme Fire Department, Beebe served as chief and taught several generations of firefighters.

Thru his long-standing participation in the Hamburg Fair and other neighborhood organizations, he also gave back to the community. Residents and firefighters in the area respected him for his dedication to public service. As they celebrated his legacy of service, fire stations acknowledged his enduring accomplishments and sent condolences to his family, friends, and the members of the Old Lyme Fire Department.
