On July 9, the Chester Fire Department expanded its rescue capabilities by putting a new set of battery-powered vehicle extrication tools into action.

Two full sets of battery-operated extrication tools and one more combination tool were delivered to the department. According to officials, the new equipment allows firemen to work more effectively during vehicle rescue operations since it is more versatile and performs faster than the department's prior hydraulic tools.
