On July 22, Firefighter Cody Griffin received recognition from the Alton Fire Department following his successful completion of the Engine 2 Pumper/Tanker Operator competency evaluation.

Griffin's competence to properly operate the department's pumper/tanker, which enables mutual assistance responses in nearby communities and supplies water for fires in regions without hydrants, was validated by the review. Reaching operator rank is a significant accomplishment that requires a great deal of training and preparation.

Griffin was congratulated on the achievement by department officials, who also expressed their anticipation of Griffin's ongoing service to the people of Alton and the neighboring mutual assistance communities.
