Bridgewater, VT. — July 14 — The Volunteer Firemen's Insurance Services (VFIS) emergency vehicle driving arrangement was used to finish driver training for members of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, located at 28 Southgate Loop. In addition to providing new members with invaluable practical experience, the training acted as a refresher for seasoned apparatus operators. Through a planned session intended to promote safe driving practices, crews practiced backing, turning, precise maneuvering, and vehicle control.
In order to lower emergency vehicle crashes, the training adhered to VFIS guidelines that stressed defensive driving and consistent operating procedures. Maintaining operational readiness and ensuring apparatus operators were ready to respond safely while safeguarding staff, equipment, and the Bridgewater community were two benefits of regular driver training.
