Thomas Lafferty was promoted to lieutenant by the Portland Fire Department, with effect from July 5.

In addition to his usual shift assignments, Lafferty has had a number of important positions since joining the agency in March 2017. In addition to being an EMS instructor in the Training Division, he was just named the department's Lead Fire Investigator. At the moment, Platoon 4 is his assigned unit.

Officials from the department acknowledged Lt. Lafferty's ongoing commitment to the Portland Fire Department and the City of Portland and congratulated him on his promotion.
