Cambridge Fire and Rescue Train for Wilderness Emergencies

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 13, members of Cambridge Rescue and the Cambridge Fire Department practiced wilderness rescue in the Brewster River Trail System.

The safe removal of injured patients from isolated areas and trash handling procedures were the main topics of the nighttime drill. Through the utilization of the trail system, crews were able to rehearse rescue operations under conditions that were comparable to those they may face in real crises. Firefighters observed that real-world accidents frequently present more difficult environments, even though the weather and trail conditions were excellent during the exercise.
