Town Bank Fire Company Installs New Station Siren

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On June 30, the Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company installed a new firehouse siren after the old one was irreparably damaged during a winter blizzard.

Firefighters finished the installation in the evening, and minutes later, when the department was called to a fire, the new siren was activated for its first emergency response. Along with pagers and mobile notification systems, the siren is still a crucial tool for warning volunteer firefighters of crises, according to department officials.

The previous siren in the department served for 32 years before being replaced.
