This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 17, Bay Head Fire Department personnel finished more than three hours of practical training and put new vehicle extrication equipment into duty.

Airbag awareness, dashboard displacement, door and roof removal, and vehicle stabilization were all covered in the ESI Equipment, Inc. training. To improve the department's car rescue capabilities and get ready for future motor vehicle incidents, firefighters with a range of experience levels took part.

The Borough of Bay Head Mayor and Council were praised by department officials for their support in purchasing the new equipment, which would improve the department's rescue operations.
