HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — July 4 — While commemorating America's 250th birthday, the Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1, 20 Equator Ave., reminded locals to observe Independence Day in a safe manner. Throughout the holiday, the volunteer department stayed prepared to handle rescues, fires, and other crises. Residents were urged by fire officials to keep grills and open flames away from combustible items, attend public fireworks displays, use only legal pyrotechnics when allowed, and report emergencies right away.

Additionally, the department acknowledged the commitment of its volunteer firefighters and mutual aid partners, whose ongoing support enabled Hillsborough Township to provide consistent emergency response coverage throughout the Fourth of July holiday weekend and all year long.
