HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — July 13 — To improve water delivery operations in places lacking fire hydrants, Hillsborough Fire Co. #3, Station 38, 324 Woods Road, took part in a big Siamese tanker and rural hitch drill. In order to keep a steady flow of water during protracted fire events, firefighters trained coordinating several tankers and portable equipment. In order to establish realistic operating conditions, Stations 36 and 48 contributed extra tankers, while Station 37 hosted the training.
The drill strengthened communication, mutual aid coordination, and rural firefighting techniques. Firefighters who receive this kind of training on a regular basis are better equipped to provide dependable water supplies in non-hydrated areas during emergencies.
