SOMERSET, N.J. — July 4 — While commemorating Independence Day, the Middlebush Volunteer Fire Department, Station 44, 21 Olcott St., reminded locals to enjoy the holiday responsibly. Throughout the hectic holiday, the volunteer department was prepared to handle rescues, fires, and other crises. Residents were urged by fire officials to dispose of smoking products correctly, keep grills and open fires away from combustible materials, and use only authorized fireworks where allowed.

The department also acknowledged the commitment of its community sponsors, mutual aid partners, and volunteer firemen, whose ongoing work helped guarantee emergency response coverage throughout Franklin Township and the neighboring areas over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
