Selden Fire Department Community Celebrated Nation's 250th Birthday

Selden, N.Y. — July 4 — On Independence Day, the Selden Fire Department Community, located at 44 Woodmere Place in Selden, New York, joined communities nationwide in commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary. The celebration highlighted the nation's legacy of civic duty and public service while also commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Emergency service organizations and fire departments also acknowledged the long history of volunteerism that has helped local communities for many generations. The semiquincentennial commemoration included community activities, historical exhibits, and educational programs across the country. Additionally, the police urged locals to remember America's 250-year tradition and common dedication to community service while celebrating safely.
