On July 15, in honor of America's 250th anniversary, members of the Wading River Fire Department took part in the Jamesport Fire Department's Independence Day parade.

Firefighters marched beside a number of department vehicles, including the department's ancient 6-3-46, the not-yet-in-service Engine 6-3-1, and the old Tanker 6-3-2. The community and participating departments turned out in large numbers for the procession, despite the heat and smoke.
