Berne FD Water Supply Drill

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Berne and East Berne fire departments conducted a water supply drill on Monday, June 27.

Members held the drill at Camp Woodstock in their fire district and the residents were notified and invited to watch the drill.

Crews rolled up to the scene as if there was a fire and began deploying hose lines off their engine and setting up a portable pond from one of their tankers.

They filled the portable pond and began to supply water to the engines, which was supplying water to four handlines.

Tankers filled up at the lake on the property and continued shuttling water.

This drill also gave some newer members the opportunity to have time on the nozzle of the hose lines to gain practice.
