Collings Lakes, N.J. — July 10 — On July 10, the Collings Lakes Fire Department, which has its headquarters at 600 Cains Mill Road, commemorated the anniversary of Deputy Chief Ed Jones' death while on duty. On July 10, 2017, department members shared a monument commemorating his End of Watch in remembrance of his service.

Through years of leadership and effort, Jones strengthened the department and provided devoted service to the community. In the fire service, annual memorial tributes are still a significant custom that allows members to honor their predecessors. The department's ongoing respect for its past and the people who answered the call was demonstrated by the observance.
