Fire Service Mourned Malaga Firefighter Robert Reider III

Collings Lakes, N.J. — July 10 — After Robert "Bobby" Reider III of the Malaga Fire Company passed away on July 10, the Collings Lakes Fire Department joined fire departments throughout South Jersey in paying tribute to him. On June 27, the 23-year-old volunteer firefighter passed away from injuries he received while responding to an emergency call.


Reider stayed committed to helping his community after joining the department as a young fireman at the age of sixteen. Fire agencies across the area expressed their sympathies to his family, colleagues, and fellow firefighters in recognition of his dedication to the fire service. State officials later acknowledged his death as a line-of-duty loss.
