Dorothy, N.J. — July 7 — After being promoted to captain with the Stone Harbor Fire Department, Firefighter DJ Fancher received recognition from the Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company. His training, loyalty to the fire service, and dedication were all reflected in the promotion. Firefighter/EMT Mike Black and Dorothy Fire Chief Jess Hand attended the event to lend support and enjoy the occasion. Members of the fire department who have proven their leadership, operational expertise, and dedication to serving their communities are given promotions.

The occasion also demonstrated the solid cooperation between volunteer fire departments in Cape May and Atlantic counties, where firefighters frequently collaborate to improve regional emergency response through training, community activities, and mutual aid.
