Elwood, N.J. — July 4 — Station 160 of the Elwood Volunteer Fire Company joined local communities around the country in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence's signing. Public ceremonies, historical events, and neighborhood celebrations were all part of the July 4 milestone, which commemorated 250 years since the country's inception. Firefighters supported public safety throughout the holiday and stayed prepared to respond to situations when locals gathered to celebrate Independence Day.
