Kirkwood, N.Y. — July 7 — In honor of James Snyder's years of devotion to the department and the Kirkwood community, the Five Mile Point Fire Company announced his passing. Snyder was a longtime member and past chief. Snyder was renowned for his technical expertise, leadership qualities, and readiness to coach other firemen. He supported emergency operations, assisted with equipment maintenance, and participated in the day-to-day operations of the business during his tenure in the department.

His family, colleagues, and fellow firemen received condolences from firefighters throughout the area. Those who worked with him for many years will never forget his devotion and hard work, which had a long-lasting effect on the department.
