Kirkwood, N.Y. — July 4 — As the United States commemorated its 250th anniversary of founding, the Five Mile Point Fire Company observed Independence Day alongside towns across the country. During cookouts, fireworks displays, and outdoor get-togethers, the department urged locals to enjoy holiday celebrations responsibly and to keep fire safety in mind.

Due to increased travel, leisure activities, and fire-related events, the Fourth of July is typically one of the busiest times for emergency responders. Firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement officials continued to serve their communities while many citizens celebrated with friends and family, demonstrating the continuous dedication of emergency services over the holiday weekend.
