Water rescue in Jersey City

Photo by RON JEFFERSOn the afternoon of July 7th, a female EDP jumped into the reservoir off of Jefferson av., a half a block east of the quarters of Jersey City Engine Co.'s 7, 18, MLU, Ladder Co. 3 and the 3rd Battalion Chief. Firefighters from Engine Co. 18 utilized the zodiac boat off of the Marine Land Unit (MLU) and made contact with the woman as her head was going under water. She was rescued and taken to a Jersey City Medical Center ambulance, alert and conscious. She attempted to rush out of the back of the EMS bus several times. The victim's daughter was present. They were transported to the JCMC, and the members of Engine 18 went off duty to decon.
