On the evening of July 1st, on and off duty and retired members of the Hackensack Fire Department assembled at Fairmont Park for the annual memorial of the city's fallen heroes.  Family members, friends of the HFD and local fire department members also gathered near the five monuments that represent the city firefighters that lost their lives in the Line-of-Duty battling an auto dealership fire on July 1st, 1988. All deceased members of the department are also recognized.  Once again, light rain came down on the memorial as if to represent tears from Heaven.   The members that were lost in 1988 were: Captain Richard Williams, Lt. Richard Reinhagen, and Firefighters William Krejsa, Leonard Radumski and Steve Ennis.
