Regional HazMat Training Brings Firefighters to Ferrisburgh

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 9, the Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department held a Hazardous Materials Operations course, which gave some members the last training they needed to earn their Firefighter I Pro Board certification.

Firefighters from all across the area, including the St. Albans Fire Department, attended the course after the department expanded it to nearby agencies. Identifying and safely handling hazardous materials events while fulfilling certification criteria was the main emphasis of the course.

Department representatives congratulated all participants on completing a significant certification milestone and praised Vermont State Fire Instructor David Raymond and course organizer CJ Webber for spearheading the program.
