Hands-On Tool Training Strengthens Crew Readiness

Pittsburgh, PA - Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company members conducted a comprehensive hands-on training session at a local bus garage, focusing on the effective use of various tools carried on their apparatus.


Crews rotated through multiple stations, operating edraulic cutters and spreaders, rams, and a range of cutting tools including a Sawzall, air chisel, and K-12 saw. Training also incorporated the use of basic hand tools to reinforce fundamental skills essential for a wide range of emergency scenarios.


The session provided valuable, real-world application in a controlled environment, allowing members to build proficiency, improve coordination, and maintain readiness for technical rescue and other complex incidents.
