Air Medical Training Strengthens Landing Zone Operations and Readiness

Cabot, VT - Cabot, VT Volunteer Fire Dept. hosted a multi-agency training with UVM HealthNet and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART), joined by local EMS and neighboring fire departments.


The session focused on requesting air medical services, ground safety, and establishing a secure landing zone. Crews also participated in a classroom discussion and Q&A with the flight crew, reinforcing coordination and best practices for aeromedical operations.


Training like this ensures responders are prepared to efficiently integrate air medical resources—an essential capability for improving patient outcomes in rural emergencies.
